Language Lab Review

A Language Lab is a dedicated space for foreign language learning. It is a platform where one can easily learn foreign language by accessing audio-video materials as well is helps a lot in enhancing ones LSRW skills. In order to learn second language and to enhance our knowledge about it, particular task about language lab was assigned to us by professor, Click Here to know more about it.

Five Advantages of Language Learning software

1) In India, we are learning English as a second language that’s why perhaps for everyone, it becomes difficult for us to catch the exact pronunciations of words. Language Lab helps to learn the exact pronunciation.  It also allows us to record our pronunciation of particular word, after that we can compare it with its actual pronunciation. This helps to learn the foreign accent as well as various aspects of phonetics of language.

2) In every learning programme at the starting point, it provides a basic understand and knowledge about it and followed by tasks. This particular tasks or exercise help in checking  our understanding about topic and we can do our self evaluation as well.

3) It allows individual learning as well as we can grasp knowledge about as many as topics we want.

 4) In comparison to traditional classroom, here we can able to acquire more knowledge in shorter time, indeed it also depends upon an individual ability, how much time they can need for learning something.

5) The course is designed in very significant manner, from easier level to difficult one. It will help everyone from dull students to intellectual one to learn language very easily.

 Five Disadvantages Language Learning software

1) The major drawback in this is that, if the person not having a basic digital skills, he/she may be fail to achieve learning goal through this.

2) Along with it, this is costly. Everyone can not afford it easily.

3) Though it allows individual learning, it encroaches group learning. If we want to do it seriously with dedication, than individual learning seems best rather than group learning. This is what I personally realized, it can be differ from everyone.

4) In comparison to traditional classroom, here we can find a less place of communication between teachers and students.

5) Being a digital tool, it also required update at course of particular  time. This may not be afforded by every time. Because of this reason it fails to function at school level, particularly where there is no much awareness about digital tools.

Five things that can be learnt form language learning software

1) It helps in self evolution, that’s why I came across certain fact which I hav need to improve about pronunciations.

2)It helps in enhancing basic skills, listening, speaking, reading and writing.

3) It will help in becoming a fluent speaker of English language with exact assents.

4) At the beginning level, It helps to learn a words which have same pronunciations but they have different meanings. Such as… bear/beer.

5) At a diffrent stages of courses we can also come across whether our ability about particular theory is developed or not.

New words I learnt from Language Learning Software

While doing this tasks, I learned many new words. Such as..
Balmy, abyss, forgo, gauge, aisle, bureau, camellia

Comparison between Language Lab programme in Dell and in Mobile App

I did some lessons on Namo E-Tab application, in comparision to language lab software; it seems quite handy or we can learn at any time at any place. But the main point is that it has not that much features that can be observed in language lab. As well as to find a particular task in mobile app is not that much easy as it keeps on updating as well as it also seems that people without basic digital skills may find it hard to access.

Similarities between language lab in Dell and in Mobile App

1) Both can help in learning basic LSRW skills.
2)We can find instant test and results as a part of checking our understanding about particular topics on both platforms.

Dissimilaritiesbetween language lab in Dell and in Mobile App

1) In Namo e-tab, they provides transcript of every audio that's why its become easy to get the meaning of word by refering to it.

2) Namo e-tab also provides learning through videos and , there should be fun for in the process of language learning.

3) In language lab we can record our pronunciation  as well as we can analyse it while such feature is not available in namo e-tab.
