She is well known for her master piece Booker Prize winning novel “God of Small Thing”.

This particular work has autobiographical elements as it mainly speaks about her own experience. As R.K.Narayan’s novels take place in fictional town called Malgudi, in the same manner this novel sets in fictional town called Ayemenem created by Arundhati Roy. Her other notable works are:

1)   Ministry of Utmost Happiness
2)   Ordinary person’s guide to empire
3)   The Algebra of Infinite Justice

Mostly her works are related with Indian politics. In her well known novel, “Ministry of Utmost Happiness” she highlights a very rigid mentality of people as well as she speaks about third gender without hesitation. Interestingly, she called Atal Bihari Vajpayee as The Lips sing  Poet PM, Narendra Modi as Gujarat ka Lalla, Manmohan Singh as Caged Rabbit and Kejarival as Mister Agrval. From this we can say that she is  courageous enough to speak against political leaders as well.

Indeed, at the end of discussion it can be said that her all works are mirror to our society which showcases both sides of coin as well as edge of coin.
